Introduction
Based in Berlin, snom designs and develops dedicated,
SIP-based IP telephones and supporting technology. Founded
in 1996, the company has constantly pursued a commitment
to innovation, open standards and SIP. snom is a customer-
oriented company producing state of the art, affordable VoIP
phones with a high cost-performance ratio and a range of
practical SIP applications for business.

Summary of Solutions
In small and home offices where only a few handsets are required, IP Phones provide a cost-effective solution to IP telephony. SNOM phones can be mixed with other vendors' SIP phone to produce a virtual community of users. The SNOM SIP Proxy (4S) provides a means for registering each
of these end-points and provides the directory services of an iPBX. Additionally, users may also deploy the SNOM Media Server to provide additional PBX-like facilities such as Voice Mail and Auto-attendant.

Connecting the IP-based services and end-points back to
traditional PSTN or an existing traditional PBX is carried
out by VegaStream's Vega range of trunk gateways.
Additionally where IP handsets are inappropriate a Vega 50
FXS (8+2) may be used and registered with the SNOM 4S
for connectivity directly with analogue handsets and branch
office analogue exchange lines.

Interoperability
VegaStream and Snom have carried out extensive
interoperability testing to ensure compatibility of their
products, have common customers and both companies
are using each other's products in-house.
