1st February 2005 Bracknell, 1st February 2005: Azlan, the leading pan-European provider of networking solutions and services, has signed a distribution agreement with VegaStream, the leading producer of dedicated voice over IP (VoIP) gateways. VegaStream's portfolio of VoIP gateways provides enterprises with seamless interoperability between the varied legacy of PSTN interfaces and new IP networks. According to research from Deloitte Touche conducted in October 2004, two thirds of businesses will have deployed VoIP by the end of 2006. According to Tim Burne, VegaStream CEO, gateways are the catalyst for the rapid adoption of VoIP in the marketplace. "Our products enable enterprise customers to profit from lower telephony costs today by allowing customers with existing telephony equipment to seize the benefits of VoIP. Furthermore, they will remain a critical, open standards component of all IP networks that support enterprises connected to the global telephone system," he said. "The question now is not 'Will VoIP ever take off?' but 'How quickly can my business seize the opportunity?' and the answer is 'Right now!'" Alan Reeve, Voice Products Manager at Azlan, believes that VoIP is now a major opportunity for systems integrators and reseller. "While some enterprises wait for the opportunity to take a "big bang" approach and completely replace TDM with IP, many are ready now to leverage the low costs offered by internet telephony service providers and IP-based WANs. VegaStream has the product range and the experience with Europe's varied TDM standards to enable our resellers to meet this latent demand."
As the first vendor to deliver Basic Rate ISDN with SIP, VegaStream has unrivalled experience of the VoIP gateway market. It was also one of the first to market with QSIG tunnelling over H.323 on E1 and T1 VoIP gateways, providing full inter-PBX feature transparency. With dual T1/E1 interfaces and sophisticated dial planners that can run without the need for a gatekeeper or proxy, VegaStream enables businesses to deploy VoIP solutions while avoiding the extensive reprogramming of the PBX.
