Growing customer and partner momentum fuels US expansion and increase in European channel and sales support teams September 2004 London, UK, September 2004: VegaStream, the leading supplier of dedicated business VoIP (Voice over IP) Gateways, today announced the opening of a new North American headquarters in San Diego and an increase in its European channel and sales support teams. The North American office, headed by VegaStream's US VP Sales David Rudee, has expanded to support increased customer momentum in the region with the appointment of new sales support and sales engineers. VegaStream US customers include the US Navy, leading global telecommunications services provider Primus Telecommunications, Canadian service provider KBT Systems and in the healthcare sector organisations such as Virginia Regional Medical Center. In the US, VegaStream works closely with value added distributors such as NETXUSA to provide 24/7 customer and partner support. Following the appointment of Richard Bayton as VegaStream's EMEA Enterprise Channel Manager in April, VegaStream has quickly grown its distribution and channel partners across Europe. A new channel account manager, Steve Mullan, together with an increase in pre-sales and sale support staff, sees VegaStream's European sales and marketing team grow to reflect the increasing momentum behind Voice over IP among enterprises, service providers and, most recently, in the residential market. Tim Burne, VegaStream's CEO commented: "This is an important moment
in development of VoIP where it is moving from being an interesting
technology to a compelling and proven telephony solution. Service providers
are deploying VoIP, enterprises are using VoIP and channel partners
are selling VoIP solutions. This growing momentum behind VoIP makes
it an exciting time to be in the business and our growth in teams in
both the US and Europe will enable VegaStream to cement its position
as the leading supplier of VoIP Gateways."
