VegaStream successfully complete compatibility
testing with Gamma Telecom's IPDirectConnect service
Bracknell, UK - October 23rd 2006: VegaStream, the industry leading developer of reliable, cost effective and easy to use telephony media gateways, announced today that Gamma Telecom and VegaStream have recently completed successful compatibility testing between Gamma’s IPDirectConnect service and the award winning VegaStream range of IP Gateways. The gateways are typically installed between customers’ existing TDM PABXs or Key Systems and the Gamma IP Service, allowing seamless integration and a fast uptake of the service.
IPDirectConnect connects the end-user’s equipment (e.g. IP-PBX) directly into Gamma's IP network, enabling full PSTN connectivity through to the IP backbone. When Gamma launched IPDirectConnect in December 2005, it was one of the first pure IP services available in the UK. Richard Bligh, Marketing Director, Gamma Telecom, commented: “When we launched IPDirectConnect, we were proud to be leading the industry into the IP era, and the collaboration with VegaStream has meant we are able to keep ahead of our channel partner’ requirements for ease of provisioning”.
Steve Davis, VP Sales and Marketing of VegaStream commented, “The advantage of using the VegaStream gateways is that there is minimal disruption to the customer’s existing telephony services and a faster return on investment for the channel. Customers can connect to the Gamma IPDirectConnect service very quickly and start streaming their calls over the Gamma network. As well as this VegaStream has over 8 years experience in IP Gateways and has sold over 6000 Enterprise class products, so the channel can be assured of minimal compatibility issues. I am delighted that the testing went so well and it is remarkable that the first time we connected to the Gamma service, it took only ten minutes for the VegaStream engineers to connect the Vega 400 to start routing calls over the IPDirectConnect service.”
Gamma is the only major UK telecommunications company to exclusively sell through the reseller channel, and is the fastest growing UK alternative network operator. In the 2005 Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100, Gamma was ranked the UK’s 6th fastest growing technology company.
