London, UK, 24th May 2005: VegaStream has been appointed a Technology Partner by TeleWare plc, the leading provider of intelligent business communication solutions to large and medium Enterprise and Service Providers. VegaStream gateways are providing access to the public switched telephone network for TeleWare's solutions based on the intelligent eXchange IP Softswitch, a solution that provides a full range of features to registered SIP handsets and softphones and which can be deployed either as a hosted service or as an on-premises solution. VegaStream gateways are fully interoperable with TeleWare's IP based feature rich communications applications. Vega 400 gateways are being installed in the deployment of TeleWare's Lone Worker solution for the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. Commissionaires of Canada are using the TeleWare Lone Worker solution to meets tough government regulations on protecting lone workers with a versatile and cost effective system. The system is designed to support 10,000 users in the first year rising steadily to provide as a target 70,000 plus seats hosted service in Canada over the next three years. TeleWare's Lone Worker solution enables connection to a CTI supervisor call centre using standard land-line or wireless phones. Users can signal their status using DTMF tones or talk to a supervisor at the Call Centre. The VegaStream gateways handle both TDM to IP signal processing and call routing.
