VegaStream gateway enables dispersed SIP solution to connect with the PSTN 26th September 2005 London - 26th September 2005: Swedish commercial property company, Diös Fastigheter AB, is implementing SIP-based telephony across its multiple offices with connectivity to the PSTN and wide area routing provided by a VegaStream Vega 400, E1 digital gateway. The new system, based on the 3COM VCX platform, will allow the company to improve customer service and reduce intra-site telecommunications costs. Diös is an established and respected name in the Swedish property market. However following a recent round of mergers, the new company Diös Fastigheter AB has emerged as one of the countries most exciting property businesses. The company operates from six offices to the north of Stockholm: Falun, Borlange, Galve, Mora, Sundsvall and Ostersund. These offices will be equipped with SIP phones with call control, authentication, privacy, location, and presence management services provided by the 3COM VCX. Swedish-based systems integrator Sourcecom is implementing the solution. The Vega 400 gateway connects to the 3COM VCX supporting up to 120 simultaneous calls between Diös' SIP phones and Swedish public switched network. Christer Sundin, Managing Director of Diös Fastigheter AB said, "We have created a new company from existing, dispersed locations. While we must be physically located in the markets we serve, we want to present a single, seamless and highly efficient operation to the Swedish market as a whole. The new VoIP solution together with the VegaStream gateway allows us to do that while reducing our operating expenses. It is a win-win situation." In the future, Diös Fastigheter AB intends to roll out the VoIP solution as a service to its tenants. "We look at every opportunity to add value for our customers, and this advanced telephony solution can do that," said Christer.
