29th March 2004
Spring Von, Santa Clara, USA. - 29 March 2004: VegaStream, a
leading supplier of dedicated business VoIP (Voice over IP)
Gateways, today announced its partnership with voice reseller
KBT Systems Corp. Under the terms of the agreement,
VegaStream's Vega 100 VoIP gateways will be distributed to KBT
customers including Canadian network operator, Telus.
VegaStream combines VoIP and the SIP protocol to provide a
Prepaid Calling Card Starter System specifically designed for
VoIP service providers. The solution ensures that companies
such as KBT systems can benefit from the advantages of VoIP
including flexibility and low infrastructure costs whilst providing
high quality - and profitable - voice services to its customers.
"VoIP is quickly becoming a reality for enterprises especially
those within the telecoms industry. Companies that stay on
PSTN will not be able to compete and will very soon be left
behind," said Tim Burne, CEO of VegaStream "VegaStream
gateways enable companies such as KBT Systems to bring down
their call costs making their own services more profitable."
KBT Systems provide prepaid minutes and infrastructure to
telecoms carriers and resellers in the US and Canada. One of its
customers, Telus is the second largest telecommunications
company in Canada with 4.9 million network access lines and
3.4 million wireless subscribers. Utilising next generation
Internet-based technologies, Telus provides subscribers with a
full range of telecommunications products and services including
data, voice and wireless services across Canada.
With such a large customer base, operators such as Telus
demand non-stop support to ensure a reliable service is provided
to its customers. VegaStream's industry leading VoIP solutions,
services and support enable service providers to cater for even
the largest of customers.
"As a reseller ourselves, KBT values good support. VegaStream
has been extremely responsive to our needs as a customer and
has allowed us to provide the same quality of service to our
own," said Steven Mundy President & CEO at KBT systems. "We
are a very happy customer."
