Successful interoperability between Vega IP Gateways and VoiceFlex SIP trunking enables smooth transition to VoIP

Bracknell, UK – July 16th 2007 - VegaStream, the industry leading developer of reliable, cost effective and easy to use telephony media gateways, has today announced that it has successfully completed compatibility testing between its Vega IP Gateways and VoiceFlex, the principle supplier of Session Initial Protocol (SIP) trunks to the channel.

"With the increasing onus on businesses to improve productivity and reduce costs, more and more companies are looking to adopt IP telephony, but are often put off by the high-levels of risk and disruption involved. The compatibility with VoiceFlex brings together the low cost calling and flexibility of SIP trunking with our IP Gateways to provide a compelling, cost-effective solution," said Steve Davis, VP Sales and Marketing, VegaStream.

Following rigourous testing, VegaStream’s full range of IP Gateways - from its enterprise focused Vega 5000 to the recently announced remote/branch office solution, the Europa 50 - have proven interoperability to support VoiceFlex SIP trunks, and enable all businesses a cost-effective and reliable way to connect to next generation networks.

"Instead of taking the costly and disruptive rip and replace approach to VoIP, a VegaStream gateway can connect an existing PBX to the VoiceFlex IP network using SIP trunking. Providing minimum disruption and maximum benefit for the end-user, this evolutionary approach offers a fast return on investment for the channel," comments Davis.

"VegaStream is one of the first suppliers of VoIP gateways to support SIP, and we are delighted to complete the successful testing of the technology," said Paul Taylor, Sales and Marketing Director at VoiceFlex. "VegaStream gateways will provide our channel partners with additional revenue streams through access to the entire customer base. IP Gateways and the migratory approach to VoIP introduce new margin opportunities that are of high value and low risk to both our partners and the end-user."

VoiceFlex’s SIP trunking uses voice over broadband to connect to its core IP network from any location. Companies can leverage SIP trunking from VoiceFlex to deliver superior business results and customer service capabilities, thereby leveraging their network investment to transform their business.
