Komtel uses the Vega range of gateways to offer low cost
international telephony solutions through their 0871 Global Direct
service. The service means that you can use your own 0871
number to directly connect to any telephone number within 67
locations worldwide, cutting out the need for calling cards and
remembering long international numbers.
"We were impressed with the ease of deployment within our own
network and the high quality of voice calls" says Nick Mutton,
CEO of Komtel. He adds "Using the VegaStream gateways
internally we have been able to clearly demonstrate internal cost
savings and that VoIP is a realistic technology for our long
distance telephony service".
Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the method by which voice
is digitized and sent through the Internet in digital packets rather
than in the traditional circuit-committed protocols of the public
switched telephone network (PSTN).
Komtel Limited is a UK based company which has been in
operation since 1997, after taking over Penbryn Consulting. They
serve around 67 countries worldwide and promote the fact that
"unlike many other phone companies across the world they
believe in providing good service without inflated prices".
