Pingtel completes certification of VegaStream dedicated VoIP gateways with SIPxchange to offer open-source solution and standards-based analog and digital gateways to help ease enterprise customer migration to VoIP

23rd May 2005

London, UK, 23rd May 2005: Dedicated VoIP gateway manufacturer VegaStream today announced it has joined the Pingtel Ecosystem Partner Program. As part of the program, VegaStream's Vega 50 and Vega 400 VoIP gateway products are now fully certified to work with Pingtel's SIPxchange™, the enterprise SIP PBX for Linux. By certifying with Pingtel's SIPxchange, VegaStream and Pingtel customers and channel partners can easily integrate the two award-wining products and enjoy the benefits and capabilities of the standards-based Vega 50 and Vega 400 gateways, as well as the ability to configure and manage these certified SIP-based VoIP gateways directly from SIPxchange.

"Pingtel and VegaStream represent where the telephony market is going and underscores our commitment to cost-effective, standards-based VoIP solutions," said David Rudee, VP USA Sales at VegaStream. "VegaStream continues to deliver dedicated VoIP gateway products that streamline the introduction of VoIP services for our carrier and enterprise customers, enabling them to make a seamless transition without sacrificing their existing infrastructures."

VegaStream's Vega 50 and Vega 400 dedicated VoIP gateways are cost-effective, standards-based platforms that enable enterprise end users to integrate VoIP into their network without requiring a change to their existing infrastructure. The Vega 50 analog FXS and FXO gateways are designed to connect analog phone systems into IP networks, and the Vega 400 digital gateways connects digital telephony equipment. Both products have proven interoperability with a wide range of existing telecommunications and VoIP equipment.

"VegaStream was an early pioneer in the VoIP gateway market and continues to deliver innovative solutions that have a positive and long-lasting impact on enterprise and carrier networks," said Al Brisard, Vice President of Marketing at Pingtel. "We think Pingtel's customers and channel partners will be able to immediately benefit from our ecosystem partnership and look forward to working with VegaStream to redefine the enterprise communications equipment and services markets."
Products certified as part of Pingtel's Ecosystem Partner Program undergo a rigorous testing and documentation program in Pingtel's test lab to ensure interoperability between the product and SIPxchange. For each product, Pingtel's certification engineers create and execute a specific test plan that covers three areas of interoperability - SIP compliance, usability and feature compatibility. The SIPxchange documentation details all the steps required for a successful installation of Pingtel certified Ecosystem components. This ensures that end users can quickly configure Ecosystem products with SIPxchange in the field. Pingtel regularly retests vendor products to ensure interoperability is being maintained. Finally, Pingtel supports certified components when used in conjunction with SIPxchange.
