Vega 50 achieves Compatible Product status with Succession 1000
26th May 2004
VegaStream, the leading supplier of dedicated business VoIP (Voice over IP) Gateways, today announced that the Vega 50 analog VoIP Gateway has achieved Compatible Product status with Nortel Networks Succession 1000 IP PBX. The Vega 50 analog gateway enables existing analog equipment to connect to IP networks, extending Succession 1000 services to remote locations such as branch offices. Today's announcement reinforces VegaStream's relationship with Nortel Networks, having previously achieved Compatible Product status for its Vega 100 gateway with Nortel's MCS 5100 and MCS 5200.
VegaStream's Vega 50 can be used to cost effectively extend Succession 1000 services to remote locations such as branch offices with analog extensions. This avoids the need for companies to purchase an additional PBX or key system for each location. The Vega 50 provides "survivability" where the remote location can continue to make calls after local power failure or disruption of communication to the Succession 1000 ensuring that each location can continue to operate stand-alone whilst also being fully integrated into the company's communications infrastructure.
"Telephony is synonymous with the dial-tone - you pick up the phone and you just expect it to work, each time, every time," said Tim Burne, CEO, VegaStream. "This total dependency on reliability and survivability can only be delivered through extensive work behind the scenes on achieving interoperability between all the elements. The certification by Nortel of the Vega 50's interoperability with their Succession 1000 is both a testament to our engineering team and a boost to our channel partners, arming them with an additional solution that they can offer globally."
